Exhibition and Launch of URBAN ACT within the framework of Agency, the 5th AHRA international conference at the University of Sheffield which addressed social and political questions of our age in a period of rapid global environmental change. (http://agency.group.shef.ac.uk/
This exhibition and book launch took place in one of the architectural studios of the school, allowing the creation of a discourse between academic research, alternative practice and architectural education, ultimately aiming at broadening the students’ understanding of these topics.
Participants from PEPRAV included Nishat Awan, James Brown, Sophie Handler , Mathias Heyden, Florian Kossak, Meike Schalk, Tatjana Schneider, Apolonija Susterjiç, Julia Udall and aaa (Constantin Petcou, Doina Petrescu, Nolwenn Marchand). Other participants in the debate included Teddy Cruz, John Jordan, Jeremy Till, Mick o’Kelly, Leslie Kanes, Ines Weizman, Jianfei Zhu, Wiwik D Pratiwi & Dhian Damajani, Maria Theodorou.
At this occasion we also had an informal discussion on RHYZOM, a new European network initiated by aaa in partnership with the Agency (Sheffield) , PublicWorks (London), PS2 (Belfast) and Platforma Garanti (Istanbul) to investigate local conditions and related forms of practice and cultural production.
